Conseils en ligneWaxing your gear
You should wax your board and skis on a regular basis. Ski or snowboard wax will improve the gliding qualities significantly. Moreover, it will ensure that the base doesn't dry out as quickly. We sell everything you need to wax your gear yourself. Wax, of course, but also vises to secure your skis or board, brushes (synthetic, horsehair, copper), waxing irons, scrapers or complete waxing sets.
Snowboard wax and ski wax for optimal glide
Regular waxing keeps your base in top condition and ensures better glide performance on the slopes. At Duijvestein you'll find different types of wax for every snow condition. The Holmenkol Natural Wax Fluid is a handy all-in-one solution with built-in sponge, ideal for quick maintenance. For those who want temperature-specific waxing, the Holmenkol Betamix Red is perfect, suitable for temperatures between -4°C and -14°C. This wax works excellently on Dutch indoor slopes like SnowWorld and in winter mountain conditions. Besides wax, we also have all the equipment you need to wax yourself: from the Holmenkol SmartWaxer waxing iron to scrapers, brushes and complete wax sets.
Wax your skis or board on average every 4-6 days on the slopes to protect your base against drying out. Notice a white or gray base, or feel that your equipment feels rough and glides slower? Then it's time to wax. With the Holmenkol Wax Fleece cloths under your waxing iron you distribute the wax even more evenly and use less wax per session. Prefer not to wax yourself? Our team is happy to take care of your skis or board in our maintenance service, or help you with advice in one of our six stores.
