What is Bootfitting
Bootfitting is the process of adjusting your ski boots to your feet, from minor thermal modifications to custom work on liners, shells and insoles.
This works two ways
- During purchase: we find the boot that suits you best and optimize it immediately.
- After purchase: we improve your existing boots if they don't fit quite right or cause pressure points.
Whatever your situation: we do what's needed to make your ski boots feel right.
Bootfitting During a Bootlab Appointment
Choose our Bootlab when buying new boots, and bootfitting is automatically included. We combine selecting the right ski boot with direct customization to your feet: proper size, last, flex and support. Then we ensure the boot truly fits well, for instance by thermally molding the liner or shell, or by fitting custom insoles.
If more is needed, we do that. This creates a fit from the start that matches your feet and your skiing style.
" I combine knowledge of foot biomechanics with ski boot technology, allowing me
to translate what I see in posture and movement directly into a better fit. "

Realistic Expectations
Skiing demands much from your body. If you ski just one week yearly, you're using muscles and joints barely stressed the rest of the year. Even with well-fitting boots, this can cause tension or sensitivity, and that's completely normal. Our adjustments help minimize that strain, but it's important to know completely pain-free skiing isn't always realistic.
Care Makes the Difference
Bootfitting isn't about maximum modifications, but understanding what your feet need. Sometimes that's a minor correction, sometimes complete optimization, but always with care, craftsmanship and realism. Everything we do serves one goal: a ski boot that fits comfortably, supports well and gives maximum control over your skis.
The power of podiatric expertise
For more complex adjustments, we work alongside registered podiatrist Mark de Vries. With his background as a high-level ski instructor and his in-depth knowledge of foot biomechanics, he knows exactly how small differences in pressure, alignment, or support affect your skiing.
Mark doesn't just look at the foot at rest—he focuses on movement on the ski, where it truly matters. From that analysis, he translates every nuance in posture or loading into custom solutions that noticeably improve comfort, control, and performance. Mark is available on Fridays at our Zoetermeer location.
